The right person will have hands-on, field project experience , perhaps prior to earning a BSEE. Person with diversified electrical engineering background, and clear progression of broadening and deepening involvement.He or she may be working with a small group of engineering and construction people who are actively working on multiple projects, often designing systems unique to the project at hand.Take ideas and translate them into AutoCad and into the field.The person is likely design and project oriented, rather than a manager of other engineers.The person is self-directing once the word and desired outcome have come from manager.The person will have been involved in project management with heavy emphasis on design.Ten to 15 years into the electrical industry, this person is looking to grow into a management level position by joining a group that will provide the experience and opportunity. The person is motivated by challenge and an eagerness to learn.Right now, this person may be working behind the scenes on some exceptional projects. The company's small engineering group does it from beginning to end, from concept to commissioning and beyond.They design it, get it built, get it running and help maintain it.Solid direction will come from the hiring manager, and appreciation for a job well done is part of the company culture. Employees at this company pitch in whenever and wherever it is needed. The group takes what is needed and makes it reality with pride and internal support.Each project will be somewhat different, although all are for the employer's projects and business groups, requiring an adjustment in how to get it done.Customization is a given.The director of engineering will move into the field with the new senior electrical engineer where the project will be constructed and operational.The new senior electrical engineer will be involved all the way.The approach is practical, productive, active and thorough. Contribute to practical, efficient design and construction Produce electrical design, project and component specs Procure electrical equipment Perform AC/DC motor control and drive design Put into practice electrical power and control wiring, power distribution, transformations, PLC/HMI programming and control Schedule, coordinate and manage field operations Handle contractors that construct and erect work for employer, often working beside sub-contractors What to bring to the table? Verifiable history of successful projects: design, implementation, troubleshooting, and completion. Willingness to do what it takes to get it done. B.S.E.E. or equivalent degree 10 to 15 years, broad and deep electrical engineering history. Tactical approach to engineering designs. What would be icing on-the-cake?
